Portfolio

This is the front and back of my portfolio. I wanted to represent my aesthetic with a drawing that I would have fun with. It`s a self portrait of me that represents my art style, and my fashion sense. I used markers, and watercolor paints as mediums.

Paint Experiments

All of these are experimentations in my visual journal of different painting techniques. The first page is of my first time using a palette knife, which I was practicing layering paints. The second painting is watercolor paint, where I practiced the drip technique, and trying out all the different colors. As for the final page, I was working with controlling the watercolor paint, and even incorporated some watercolor pencil into a few of the pieces.

Serendipity

This is a drawing I did of Jimin from BTS. I was inspired by one of his music videos that had just came out at the time, so I drew him, and included some of the lyrics to his song Serendipity. One thing I wish I could change was the fact that I only used a #2 pencil, so I couldn`t get the depth that I wanted.

Joe Jonas` True Colors

This is a painting I did of Joe Jonas` campaign with Guess. The goal of this project was to create a portrait using different color schemes. This is one of my first paintings, so I struggled quite a bit. I`m hoping over the course of this year I will become a better painter.

Color PoP Double Page Spread

This is a double page spread I did in my visual journal. I wanted to incorporate my art style in this color theory project so I would have fun with it. I really liked how it turned out.

Hummingbird

This is my drawing of a hummingbird. This is one of my first pieces I have actually tried to color, and it was one of my biggest struggles due to the fact that I`m colorblind.

May you be forever happy

This is my metal tooling piece of a Chinese ornament hanging from a cherry blossom tree. I wanted to incorporate Chinese aspects with a popular design that I used in the top right, and bottom left hand corners, along with the Chinese characters for happiness in the center.

Challenge Piece

This is a drawing of Korean model for Vogue, Kim Min Jun. I wanted to work on realism, along with a media that I don`t normally use. I don`t like working in color, but for this piece I wanted to challenge myself by creating a realistic drawing, by layering colors to get the right skin tone, including shadows and highlights.

Reflect on your actions

This is a still life drawing done in charcoal, of a pair of sunglasses, a phone, and an orange. The goal of this project was to create a drawing of a reflective surface that is not 2 dimensional, or from a photograph. I spent hours sitting in one spot, with the same lighting, with the same objects, in the exact same place without moving at all.

Galaxy Goals

This is the first project of 2017, and I think its great to list your goals for the new year, or in this case the new semester. This is my dream board made with a silhouette of myself with galaxy watercolor paint, and my goals for the 2017 school year.
